Sorry guys - it has been a while
Hi guys
I know it has been too long since I have posted on my blog - the summer just flew by - and everything happened so fast - WBC, 3 fantastic weddings, trip to Sicily, Fair Faelled (Fair trade show in Copenhagen) and much more.
But the one thing that really loops in my mind is that I am expecting a baby in March. We have kept it secret until recently, but yesterday I got a scan and there was life inside me :) (I cannot keep thinking of Aliens)
We are quite happy, was not really planned, but we are not getting any younger hehe
Here you can see some of the pictures from the Fair Fælled arrangement
Take care,
Lene

Hopes for Wonderful Coffee - meet me there...
Hi my dear friends
I am so much looking forward to Wonderful Coffee event in Øksnehallen. Øksnehallen was the site where I won the danish championship last year. It was so overwhelming that I won, it was a surprise as I knew it was a very close competition.
Coming back to Øksnehallen this time will hopefully bring back some of the nice feelings. Also to know that I will be meeting my friends from around the world.
As a board member I will have the responsibility for SCAE Denmarks stand (no. 10), so I will be there most of the 4 days - please drop by and tell me how you have been.
The SCAE DK board is actually only Søren and me, and as Søren is competing, he will be focusing 100% on his performance. I think we have put up a nice cosy stand with sofas and of cause an espresso machine.
Actually I look mostly forward to meeting all the people I have met during my career in coffee. I have participated in 3 NBC's, been to WBC in Trieste and of cause Tokyo and last but not least the coffee trip to Nicaragua. Baristas, owners, producers, cuppers, "barista magazine" writers and representatives from all over the world, I hope to see you soon. Hope I am not to shy to meet you ;-)
I hope that Copenhagen will fulfill its role as a very good place for the big event. Hope that visitors like Denmark and not get run over by the crazy bike riders. I just wish that everybody will think that this has been the best WBC etc. ever.
See you there - hugs from Lene

Huha tiden flyver afsted...............

DKBC over - Lene game over (for a while)
HI friends
Now that the danish championships are over - I am so tired, I have spend all my time arranging it - had a few feed back of a great championship - I think it was great too. It takes a lot of work and now I just wanna kick back for a while from the work for SCAE Denmark.
Congrats to Søren - he has been working hard both in practising and helping set up the championships.
You can see some of my pictures via www.scae.dk and click the winners
Or you could visit our friends at espressobar.dk which is a forum for danish homebaristas, who thoroughly covered the 2 days of competition with videos, photos and interviews of all competitors. They covered the championships better than WBC in Tokyo, well of cause only 9 competitors - but they are not pros, even though it looks like it. I admire their passion for coffee and their homepage.
Now I am falling a sleep.... see you late...

I'm back from Nicaragua
Dear friends,
It has been a fantastic week in Nicaragua - the country, the coffee, the people and the travelmates were a fantastic experience.
I learned a lot about coffeefarms - and saw how it works in the producers world, at least in Nicaragua.
I am working on uploading some of the 1100 pictures Jeppe and I shot during this adventure. If you should be interested in some of the pictures - they are also available in higher resolution - just let me know.
Eventhough I have been home for a week and working hard, there's this warm feeling in my
heart from the Nicaraguan experience - I will be forever grateful.
It is hard to pick out / name some individual person who made a big impression on me, everybody was so nice to me. Although I want to thank Roberto for making this happen, it has been a unforgettable time in Nicaragua - your people should be proud of your work, you have created a bunch of Nicaraguan ambassadors.
Thanks to everybody from this tour - love you ;-)

Busy Busy Busy
Dear friends,
Sorry I have been too busy to blog for a long time - I have become a member of the SCAE Denmark board. All members are new so we have been struggling hard to get it running. Right now we are trying to arrange the 2 regional + danish championship, we are looking for judges and volunteers to help us out - takes a lot of time and sweat. Jeppe has also been involved in the work, so we have been working with SCAE every evening/night the last 3 weeks.
But excitement is rising for our trip to Nicaragua, Roberto has sent a very interesting programme and I hope to take some nice pics and report some of the adventures from the trip.
Take care.....
